We believe MTN Nigeria would roll out MTN 5G Coverage to other states pending the time delay might be due to no infrastructures to power the Fifth-generation coverage.

How to benefit from the MTN 5G Coverage in Nigeria

There are two major ways to enjoy this MTN 5G coverage in Nigeria:

  • MTN 5G router,
  • 5G Compatible Device and MTN SIM Card (Must have been upgraded to 4G)

MTN 5G Router

The MTN 5G router is the one of options for everyone to access 5G in Nigeria. Users can buy the device from MTN’s website which cost about 50000 Naira (approximately $100) and if they’re within a 5G zone, they can use any device to connect to the 5G network through WiFi.

However, some testers of this MTN 5G router noted varying speed experiences. On a 5G-compatible device, the user experienced an internet speed of over 1024 Mbps while another user on an older device model which doesn’t support 5G recorded a reduced speed of about 50Mbps. According to MTN Nigeria, a device model and Specification could affect the internet Speed.

Some Of The Offers of an MTN 5G Router include

  • Upto 32 Devices can connect
  • Wide Wi-Fi Connection Range
  • Free 100GB Data on Activation

5G Compatible Device.

5G-compatible devices are built with Fifth-generation network technology, facilitating them to access 5G networks when available. Companies like Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Nokia, Huwaei even Transsion (Tecno & Infinix) have started producing devices that are 5G compatible to help support this Fifth-generation broadband.

5G enablement is the backend integration of the phone models into the MTN 5G network, enabling these phones to access the MTN 5G services within the accredited zones nationwide. MTN is presently working on integrating some other phones into its 5G network, which simply implies that users of some of these devices may not yet be able to access the 5G network fully or partially via their sim cards and phones directly.
